Ziziphus rivularis | River Jujube tree for sale | Vals-wag-n-bietjie boom

River Jujube (also known as False Bufelo Thorn) is an unarmed small to medium size tree, usually observed along rivers and watercourses. (Hence "rivularis"). The species has a olive green simple leaves, a straight, smooth, greyish trunk and a well formed, neat canopy which casts patchy shade. Its flowers are inconspicuous. Ziziphus rivularis grows at a medium-fast rate, has only slightly invasive roots, is mostly deciduous, but may also be evergreen, depending on climate. We have observed at our nursery that River Jujube tolerates -2C without any damage due to cold.
