Schrebera alata | Wild jasmine for sale | Wildejasmyn
Wild jasmine (Wildejasmyn) is a stunning, fast growing, small, evergreen tree with a shrub-like growth form and non-aggressive roots. The tree's striking flowers have a strong jasmine fragrance, filling the air especially during wind-still evenings. Schrebera alata's fruit is pear shaped (see photograph below), explaining its alternative popular names: "Wooden-pear" and "Houtpeer". It is an easy grower, tolerates mild frost and is quite water wise. Wild jasmine may grow a bit wild and needs occasional pruning. Plant Schrebera alata in a small or even very small garden for its flowers, or use it as a screening tree. It is an undiscovered jewel.
