Ptaeroxylon obliquum | Sneezewood tree for sale | Nieshout
Sneezewood is moderately frost and drought tolerant. It is generally viewed as a smaller tree. Ptaeroxylon obliquum has dark green, once compound leaves. This, combined with its branching structure, results in a compact canopy. The tree is semi-deciduous and exhibits beautiful autumn colors. Sneezewood distinguishes between male and female trees. In our experience the tree’s root system in non-aggressive, and since it is also one of the smaller tree species, it makes Ptaeroxylon obliquum a good choice for the small garden.
Value to honeybees: Nectar, N0-2?; Pollen, P0-2?; Flowering months 8-2, (10-11). (See blog-post "The bee-value of South Africa's trees" for an explanation of codes)
