Treeshop Logistics

Q: Does Treeshop deliver?

Q: Will Treeshop deliver to my location?

Q: Do you deliver large trees like 100L or 250L bags?

Q: Do you ship small saplings by courier?

Answers to logistics related question:

Treeshop offers delivery across much of South Africa. We deliver ourselves to locations within approximately 180 km of our nursery near Pretoria. This includes greater Pretoria and Johannesburg, as well as towns such as Midrand, Alberton, Meyerton, Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging, Sasolburg, Witbank, Middelburg, Groblersdal, Dinokeng, Bela-Bela, and Rustenburg.

For longer distances, we subcontract deliveries to major South African cities, such as Cape Town, Durban, and Bloemfontein, using trusted long-haul carriers.

Delivery of trees in 100L and 250L bags takes careful planning. We do deliver larger trees provided that the order does not exceed 1.2 ton and the destination is within our delivery zone. Off load at the destination is at one location only. If the order exceeds 1.2 ton, we subcontract delivery. The delivery zone of the contractor will then apply. Loading and handling of 250L bags require special equipment. Long-haul carriers are often not eager to do such work.

Small tree saplings, when available, may be shipped via national courier services.

If you're not sure whether we deliver to your location, contact us with your town or suburb and we’ll advise on the best delivery option.

Financial matters

Q: Can I order trees online and get them delivered in South Africa?

A: Treeshop has an online purchase facility. You can use this to get a budget quote for the trees you intend to purchase. Delivery cost is not automated. It depends on distance, load, and possibly route optimization by  combining your order with others.

Q: Do you have a price list?

A: Our trees are priced according species and container size. If you want firm prices, it is best to contact Sandra on WhatsApp 084 504 1775 and ask for a quotation. If you want provisional prices, you can find it on our website.

Expertise, Treeshop's Infrastructure and evidence of services

Q: I am looking for expert advice on which trees to plant in my garden

A: Treeshop has been growing indigenous trees since 2004. We understand the needs and growth attribute of many tree species from a wide spectrum of eco zones. Whether it is watering, fertilization, pruning or pest control on the one side, or growth rate, root growth, mature size and frost hardiness on the other, we at Treeshop can help you.

Q: I am looking for expert advice on which trees to plant for my project

A: Tree planting needs for projects differ from those for gardening. For example: After-plant care for projects is often lacking. Hence more robust trees are preferred; Planting trees for shade in a parking lot poses specific challenges  which should be considered before deciding what to plant. Treeshop is geared to offer advice for small, medium and large tree-landscaping projects.

Q: I am looking for a knowledgeable person to address our gardening club on trees.

A: It will be a pleasure for us to address your club. Our experience in germinating seeds will leave your members in awe  for nature's ways. We will share with you our experience in planting and maintaining trees. Also for planting trees in pots and their after care.

Q: I need someone to identify the tree species growing on my property.

A: This type of service is not core to our business. But if there is a commercial up-side to such a request, Treeshop will consider it favorably.

Q: What values do Treeshop hold?

A: We believe that the best way to achieve excellence is through focus. This is why we grow and supply trees only, and more specifically trees that are indigenous to Southern Africa. Our mission is to grow the widest possible variety of native species. Groups of species require different climate zones. We achieve optimal growing conditions for these zones by an assortment of large nursery tunnels, computerized irrigation, adaptive plant mediums and integrated pest control.

We strive to follow a scientific approach in everything we do. When a challenge is beyond our expertise, we will seek help from academic/research institutions. This scientific drive comes from one of the founders of Treeshop - Dr. Piet Stoker, entrepreneur, PhD Engineer and Emeritus Professor. He has a thorough understanding of the research process and the ultimate benefit that it offers to our clients.
