Catha edulis | Bushmans-tea trees for sale | Boesmanstee
Bushman’s tea tolerates mild frost and is somewhat drought resistant. It is a neat, compact, semi-deciduous tree. Catha edulis has bright-green, leathery leaves. It is a medium/small sized tree with a non-aggressive root system. Plant a few Bushman’s tea trees in a group for a striking autumn color show. Consider to mix some Lavender trees (Heteropyxis natalensis) in between for contrast. Catha edulis is an undiscovered jewel.
Value to honeybees: Nectar, N0-1?; Pollen, P0-1?; Flowering months 1-12, (6-10)?. (See blog-post "The bee-value of South Africa's trees" for an explanation of codes)
